When corrosion resistance and maintenance free characteristics are required, a stainless steel on PTFE fabric material Spherical Plain Bearing should be considered. Due to the variety of widths and load capacities, the outer rings are one of two types: single fractured, double fractured, both come either open or sealed.

AST’s extensive steel on PTFE fabric material series is ideal for heavy loads where lubrication is not possible or desirable. For medium loads, please consider either the PTFE composite material series. For even lighter loads, you should consider the Steel on Bronze SPB series. AST’s stainless steel on a PTFE fabric material spherical plain bearings are separated into the following series:
- GE-ET/X Series – Stainless Steel-on-PTFE Fabric Material, metric dimensions, single fractured, with seals
- GE-ET/X-2RS Series – Stainless Steel-on-PTFE Fabric Material, metric dimensions, single fractured, with seals
- GE-XT/X Series – Stainless Steel-on-PTFE Fabric Material, metric dimensions, double fractured, with seals
- GE-XT/X-2RS Series – Stainless Steel-on-PTFE Fabric Material, metric dimensions, double fractured, with seals
